Now mostly retired, Geoff spent his working life as a journalist, broadcaster, public speaker and consultant.

Writing

As well as more than 20 years' experience of working at the BBC, Geoff honed his writing skills while campaigning for improved support for his fellow thalidomiders. He penned numerous letters and other promotional material that persuaded Diageo PLC and the health departments of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to increase the support available to those affected by thalidomide. In addition to his disability work, Geoff is also an occasional contributor to the travel pages of the Independent. He has gained a reputation as a first class wordsmith.

Broadcasting & Podcasting

Geoff is an experienced radio presenter and has made numerous appearances on television. As an acknowledged expert on disability issues, he will continue to be a regular contributor to radio and tv programmes, both live and pre-recorded. He has made regular appearances on The Way We Roll-a monthly podcast by his mates, Phil Friend and Simon Minty. Together with his wife Dawn, Geoff has started a new podcast, Escapodyssey, sharing their travels and adventures.

Public Speaking & Moderation

Geoff enjoys the limelight and relishes the opportunity to keep an audience entertained. He is an experienced conference chair and speaker. He has enjoyed moderating events for the EU, Microsoft and EY- to name just a few.

In Retirement

Geoff seems to be as busy in retirement as he was in full time work. He has links to various voluntary bodies and continues to write and carry out consultancy work. He enjoys traveling the world with his wife Dawn and they have recently started documenting their journeys in a new podcast called Escapodyssey. They live in Harrow, North West London, with their dog Piper, and five cats.
